This week I have 5 important questions for you to answer as an artist and creator. I’d love if you shared your answers with me, you can stay anonymous! Next week I’ll answer my own questions and feature some of your answers as well. More on that in a second…
But first… here are the questions.
1 - What was your very first memory of making art. As a child, adult, etc.
2 - Is there an Artist you admire the most, and why?
3 - Did you ever have an Art Mentor? Your Obi-Wan Kenobi or Fairy Godmother? Someone who saw that spark in you. Tell me about them.
4 - What do you struggle with the most with your art, or life as an artist?
5 - What are you working on now? - and if nothing yet, what do you dream of doing?
Instruction:
Write or Draw Out Your Answers: I recommend writing out the question and your answers on paper with pencil. Maybe even doodle something if it comes to you when you’re writing/thinking.
Sharing is Caring: I’d really love it with we shared our stories together. If you wish to stay anonymous, understood. Send your answers to me at dj@drawordieclub.com, it can be text, or if you want to take pictures of your pencil writing or sketchbook, doubly awesome. Let me know at the end or beginning if you wish to remain anonymous, or your signature and optional link to your work.
Why do this? I’ve found, kind of organically, over the past 114 weeks that these topics come up in conversation, and that by thinking, talking and drawing about them, it really re-energizes us as artists, creators and human beings. Try it and find out!
Next week, and maybe in the coming weeks, I’d love to share some of YOUR stories. Just as I’ve shared my stories and it’s helped so many, I think we can amplify the hell out of this with different stories from different backgrounds. It really brings artists together.
Speaking of bringing artists together….
